A Wonderful Surprise

Opened a wedding gift from Michael Dooley today! How awesome is that cork board?!! I've never had one and I love it so much!!! He even put our Save The Date on there and got ahold of our guest book paper! I have to add his words to my post from earlier today:
"A couple that marimbas together will give resonance to life."
Poor Evan, I don't even think he got to open a single gift. =)
Thanks Mike, I love it!!!!
"I attended a music love-fest and a wedding broke out!"
I've spent my birthday morning rereading our wedding guest book cards. I am so glad everyone filled them out, it is such a special memory for us! I wanted to share pieces of some of my favorites:
"I attended a music love-fest and a wedding broke out!" Joe Dominguez
"Since your wedding is a reflection of your future, expect a life full of great music and wonderful friends." Alexis Howland
"Best wedding EVER!" Mom Whittier
"...Some things in this world are too universal to have come about by chance. It's not just that you "should be" married (insert irritating pointed finger here). It's that you're supposed to be married. It is how we are built..." Aunt Susan Andrews
"Music is a language that unites you to each other, to those whom you meet, teach, and share life's memories." Tom Tomaszek
"A couple that marimbas together will give resonance to life." Michael Dooley
"Evan, you were right. Dream Theater ROCKS." Garrett Allen

Success!
It has taken me months to figure out the easiest, fastest way to put loads of pictures on a blog, but I think I've done it! Huge, Huge thank you to Michael Bilich for taking all of these pictures and the beautiful DVD he presented me and Evan with. When we get all the family portraits from our photographer, I'll post those too!
Thanks again to everyone that attended our wedding, I hope you had a great time! We couldn't of done it without our incredible parents and extremely talented friends. Special thanks to Julia Martinez, she went above and beyond the call of duty of what it means to have a friend be a day-of-coordinator. All my friends that helped set up and tear down, thank you so much. Finally, thank you to the family and friend musicians that supplied our wedding day with their talent. That was the most important aspect of the wedding to us, and we couldn't be happier. Thank you!

Best Man: Craig Blackard

Craig, Evan
One of the most lovable people you'll ever meet, Craig, is Evan's younger brother. He lives in Fort Collins, CO and is finishing his Master of Vocal Performance at Colorado State University. We've had the best ski & rafting vacations because of Craig's active lifestyle/career path! The rafting picture was from 06/2003 when we went to visit Craig in Buena Vista, CO. When he worked at Keystone Ski Resort, we went to Keystone, when he worked at Durango Mountain, we went to Durango (more than once). Following in his Aunt Susan's footsteps, we've asked Craig to sing at our wedding. I'm so excited and honored he'll be singing, we can't wait!

The Day has Passed!!
The hotel will still let you book under our package with the $89 rate but the official window ended yesterday. If you haven't already, please call soon and book your hotel. You silly procrastinators. Trust me, you're going to want to stay in the hotel just to get one of the bags my mom made. =)

Maid of Honor: Courtney Mills

Courtney and I first met 11 years ago when we both marched Carolina Crown. Years go by and she starts working with Evan at Richland High School. Well, through Evan we rediscover each other and the rest is history! She has been unbelievable during this year that I've been engaged. She's listened to every decorating idea (which was close to a billion) and decision I've had to make regarding the in's and out's of the wedding. She (with the help of my other wonderful girlfriends) threw me a fabulous bridal shower and next weekend is throwing my bachelorette weekend in the Texas Hill Country. I'd like to do lots of cycling in those hills but I don't think that's exactly what she has in mind. =) Courtney lives in Rhome with her boyfriend, Rob, and designs color guard uniforms. She's really excited because she's going back to school in the fall to study dance at TWU. Thanks for everything, Court!

Groomsmen: Corey Gilmore

Evan and Corey in Lake Tahoe
Corey and Evan go back early, early college because Corey also studied percussion at UNT. They've lived together on multiple occasions, including when Evan and I first started dating. Corey currently teaches percussion in Celina ISD and spends most of his weekends hanging out on our side of town. Corey has played electric bass in Evan's spring percussion concert every year since Evan's been at Richland. He also plays drum-set in a Tower of Power cover band. Corey has been there since day 1 of Michelle and Evan and our wedding wouldn't be the same without him!
