Groomsman: Mitchell Whittier Part II

Was looking through some photo albums today and found some good ones of Mitchell.  Mitchell and I took a month long trip through Europe one Summer...I think '05?  We started in Norway with our parents, then headed to Amsterdam while they went to France with friends. We spent 3 weeks wandering around making our way to our end destination, Madrid.

Barcelona, Spain

Lucerne, Switzerland

Another trip...April '03  Littlefork, MN.

Mitchell, me, Evan, my Grandpa!

This next photo has lots of stories...when I flipped it over onto the scanner I noticed my mom had written, "Party Room."  Pretty much sums it up!

"That *@#^* ain't got no shoes on!"

Hotel = foot in mouth

So, finally called the hotel today because I've never gotten a reply to two emails that I sent.  My contact at the hotel had specifically said, "Email me" and so I did!

The front desk guy on the phone today after I kindly, but forcefully ask for a reason that I haven't heard back says, "yeah...he had a heart attack Monday."

Crap, Crap, Crap.  Seriously?

Thankfully though, he's doing fine and is expected back to work on Monday.

Unbelievable.

Race Report: Cross Timbers Trail

This was my first time to do this race and it was great! Look at that cool medal! The trailhead is on the South side of Lake Texoma by Cedar Bayou Resort. Dana came with me and we camped out the night before, really fun except for the INSANE winds, I think they had to be 50-60 mph gusts. Around 2 a.m. after all my tent stakes had came out of the ground and I could feel the tent seriously about to take off into space with me in it, we moved into car. The greatness of my new car, the Honda Element. We put the back seats up, moved the front seats forwards, and put our therma-rests down with sleeping bag and pillows. It was so comfortable and we had so much room. Love my car!!

The race itself was pretty challenging in terms of technical terrain, but really fun. I love how trail races are small with such great volunteers and home cooked food. I only did the 5 mile, but they put on a half-marathon, marathon, and 50 mile. Maybe 50 miles next year? No chance. =)

Hotel

I've had a lot of people ask about a hotel this week and the good news is we've found one!  I'll be posting information on it really soon so stay tuned!  I just want to wait until the actual contract is signed.

Also, just about done with the registry...seriously, once you start it's hard to stop!   Thanks to Kelley and Dana for their help with that!

I think those are my only updates for now, have a great weekend!

Bridesmaid: Lauren Boyce

I met Lauren while waiting tables at Bochy's Bistro in Denton.  Evan and I had just moved back from Lake Tahoe and Lauren was my savior!  A former resident of Galveston before Hurricane Ike blew everything away, she now lives in League City.  The fact that I now wear heels, earrings, carry more than one purse (not at a time, just depending on the outfit), and have an interest in makeup can all be credited to Lauren!  She is such a loyal friend and I'm so excited for her to be a part of the wedding.

Here's Lauren with my family:

Groomsman: Mitchell Whittier

Mitchell is the greatest brother anyone could ever ask for and the most supportive friend a sister could have!  He lives in Seattle now and is finishing up his Master's at University of Washington.  I am going to visit him for the first time in March and am so excited.  I'll post lots of pictures when I get back!  The other member of the family is Mitchell's dog, Brendan, otherwise known as B-Dog.  The above picture is when we were all in Galveston for a triathlon and the photo of Brendan is a camping trip we took to Oklahoma.
